Showcasing works from the artist residency hosted by Bob Brown Foundation in the wild and ancient forests of Takayna in north-west Lutruwita / Tasmania. This unique gathering brings together artists from across the country — and beyond — to immerse themselves in one of the world’s last great temperate rainforests.

–––––

Art for Takayna is more than an exhibition, it is a call to action. For five days, artists from across Australia camped in Takayna’s remote forests. Under myrtle trees and the hidden gaze of animals, they created art as a living memory of this ancient ecosystem. This is the story of Takayna told through the eyes of over 100 artists.

This year’s exhibition brings together a powerful collection of works spanning photography, painting, sculpture and performances.

Together, they form a compelling call to action – a visual reminder of what stands to be lost forever.

Entry to the exhibition is free, and artworks are available for purchase. A variety of performances, artist talks and workshops will also happen throughout the exhibition.

Proceeds go towards our ongoing campaign to protect Takayna as a World Heritage-listed national park, returned to Aboriginal ownership.
Bring your family, friends or coworkers to share in the wonder of Takayna.

Featuring artworks by:
Andrew Phipps, Arwen Dyer, Charels Chadwick, Colette Harmsen, David Booth (Ghost Patrol), Graham Wilson, Jill Pierce, Lousia Wills, Trace Balla, Tyto, Wendy Galloway, Xan Nunn, and many others.

Performances by:
Nidala Barker, Tilley Song and many others

Witness at your own risk – beauty this profound has been known to turn ordinary citizens into extraordinary defenders. Not recommended for those comfortable with environmental complacency.
