Waterworks is a satirical play about institutional corruption in retirement living. Retirement has never been this chaotic. Welcome to Lady Waratah Retirement Village. A new neighbour arrives of supernatural proportions, what happens when village life starts to unravel? Find out in Waterworks.

–––––

Set in a retirement village, Waterworks is a satirical exploration of institutional corruption, ageism, poverty, and the fragile nature of community. Amy finds herself navigating a system built to maintain control rather than provide care, where residents are managed, monitored, and quietly forgotten.

When a peculiar new neighbour arrives, unsettling, othered, and impossible to ignore, the delicate balance of village life begins to shift. As routines distort and tensions rise, Amy and the residents are forced to confront what it truly means to be seen, valued, and treated with dignity.

Blurring the line between the absurd and the all-too-real, Waterworks follows a community on the brink as they grapple with belonging, resistance, and the quiet fight to restore humanity to a system that has long stripped it away.

CONTENT WARNING: The show contains mature themes of violence, sexual references and course language, appropriate for ages 16 plus.
