Tasmania’s all‑female big band bringing bold energy

Step into a high-energy journey through the vibrant world of big band music with No Man’s Band. In a 60-minute musical adventure, this powerhouse group of distinguished female musicians, featuring a captivating duo of vocal soloists, delivers a program packed with swing, groove and irresistible charm.

With a tight, dynamic and effortlessly stylish band behind them, the vocalists shine in a program celebrating the richness and versatility of the big band tradition with style, sass and sparkle. Audiences will enjoy beloved classics including Only a Paper Moon, Minnie the Moocher, Blue Skies, and The Frim Fram Sauce, alongside toe-tapping favourites such as Flashdance, I Say a Little Prayer and You’ve Got a Friend in Me.

Playful, polished and full of musical vitality, this concert promises great tunes, brilliant musicianship and classic big band energy at its most vibrant.

Salamanca@6 is an event series added to the Festival of Voices 2026 program, celebrating emerging and early-career singers and ensembles who are helping shape the future of Tasmanian music. At 6 pm on selected evenings during the festival, audiences are invited to the Peacock Theatre to discover fresh voices, original ideas and the next wave of local talent. It’s a welcoming space where curiosity is encouraged, creativity is celebrated, and artists have the chance to share new work with an audience.

By offering a range of performers the opportunity to present their work as part of Tasmania’s longest-running winter festival, Salamanca@6 supports the development of aspiring vocalists while giving audiences the chance to experience something vibrant, immediate and full of possibility. Every performance is different, with each artist bringing their own style, story and perspective. Together, these events showcase the depth of Tasmanian talent and the simple power of song to bring people together.
