This August Konrad’s quintet returns to the Salamanca Jazz live music program, as they delve further into the original arrangements offered by its members, notably, Al Dobson and Dan Sulzberger who have both been writing within the jazz idiom for more than two decades. Dobson’s studies with American jazz great Dave Liebman helped distill his unique writing style, while Sulzberger has always written from behind the piano with an energy and exuberance reminiscent of McCoy Tyner and Herbie Hancock.
Park offers the one jazz arrangement he’s been successful enough to achieve, writing a good jazz arrangement ain’t so easy!
Jazz inevitably asks the musician to bring some new experiences to the stage.
Completing the quintet are Konrad Park, Al Dobson, Dan Sulzberger, bassist Hamish Houston and Trumpeter Joshua Ford-King.
Konrad invites the audience to share in the quintet’s musical journey. The louder you let us know you’re there, the louder we’ll let you know we’re here. So who’s there?!
