The Hope trio is the brainchild of Double and Electric bass player Nigel Hope. It features two of the state’s best musicians to fill out the trio; Dan Sulzburger takes flight on the Keys and is my brother in harmony and melody, the man on the drums is the great Konrad Park who is truly remarkable.
What makes this trio so powerful and expressive is the deep closeness of our friendship and an understanding beyond words of where the music is lives.
The music we play is inspired by the original Jazz groups in the way we use well-known popular material and turn it into a vehicle for improvising.
We also love to play from the long list of the great Jazz library that we all know and love.
