“(Hetty Kate) has a stage presence only matched by the clarity of her voice” – James Morrison AUreland, Scotland and Maritime Canada

British/Australian vocalist Hetty Kate returns to Hobart for her 2025 Australian tour. Based in Paris since 2017, Hetty came up in Melbourne’s vibrant jazz scene under the mentorship of Australia’s most treasured jazz musicians, and has spent nearly two decades gracing stages from New Zealand to New York and Paris to Prague.

A true raconteur and entertainer, Hetty combines natural musicality, impeccable timing, and a clear, enchanting tone with warmth and razor-sharp wit. Often described as ‘The Real Deal’, she’s toured and recorded with jazz luminary James Morrison, performed with Rick Margitza and Peter Bernstein, and was the featured vocalist in Morrison’s award-winning ‘The A to Z of Jazz’.

For this intimate Hobart performance, Hetty presents Spring, Vol. 1 – the first installment of her ambitious album series Jazz in Four Seasons – for this concert the album’s music will be performed in trio with Hobart musicians Matt Boden (piano) and Hamish Houston (double bass). Expect a warm, masterful evening celebrating the most tumultuous of seasons, with treasures from Ellington, Dameron, and Brubeck alongside rarities and original compositions.
