The Artists’ Cottage is utilised primarily for Salamanca Arts Centre’s Arts Residency Program. This Georgian sandstone Cottage (C. 1840), is centrally located in historic Battery Point, and within walking distance to Salamanca Place.
Artists can apply for inclusion in Salamanca Arts Centre’s Arts Residency Program. Any dates not utilised by the Arts Residency Program are available to artists, arts organisation or non-artists.
Arts Residency Program
For almost a quarter of a century, the Artists’ Cottage has hosted visiting Artists of all disciplines and their families, for Residencies and short-term accommodation.
In 2021, Salamanca Arts Centre launched the new Self-Funded Arts Residency Program for the Artists’ Cottage, with the aim of providing a new residency program in Hobart.
The Self-Funded Arts Residency Program consists of a maximum of 12 Arts Residencies per year and is open to artists of all disciplines (including writers, performers, musicians and visual artists) for either solo or collaborative / multi-artist residencies.
