THE VIOLYMPICS is the world’s silliest classical sports carnival where violinists, violists, cellists and string stars battle it out in ridiculous music-meets-Olympics events… WHILE playing actual pieces!

Forget the real Olympics, this is the one you’ll actually want to watch!

THE VIOLYMPICS is the outrageously funny concert where classical musicians turn into elite athletes… but the only medal they’re chasing is your uncontrollable laughter.

Picture this: elite string players locked in head-to-head battles while performing beautiful music. They’ll trade phrases of Bach’s Badinerie whilst competing in a round of badminton using duct-taped rackets to bows in the Bowedminton event. They’ll pump iron (well, bags of increasingly heavy water bottles) on their bow arms during Bolero’s weightlifting round. They’ll hurl bows across the stage in the long range Javiolin (javelin) round, blow out candles from ever-increasing distances in the Long-Distance Accuracy event, and attempt extreme sight-reading from blurry handwritten scores in the legendary Ironmanuscript 10m dash.

Other jaw-dropping challenges include:
High Jump in octaves
Hop-Skip & Modulate
Trillathelon – progressively absurd ornimentation.
Wrestling = Rest-ling, adding more and more rests while keeping the melody recognisable

There’s a full Youth Round for the next generation of string stars, a Mental Decathlon Trivia showdown, a completely unhelpful “conductor” giving increasingly ridiculous gestures, and yes, someone will attempt the Southpaw Challenge playing left-handed.

It’s part concert, part comedy sports spectacular, and 100% guaranteed to have you crying with laughter. Whether you’re a classical die-hard, a casual music fan, or just love watching highly skilled people do ridiculously stupid things with their instrum, ents, The Violympics is the funniest night out you’ll have all year.

Bring your friends. Bring tissues for the giggles. Bring spare bows (you might need them).
The Violympics: because classical music was always meant to be this much fun.

Tickets are selling faster than a bow in a Javiolin throw, grab yours now.
