Presented by O’Grady Drama Hobart On Cue Ensemble

One spring day. A small village of eccentric characters.

Poetry. Gossip. Love Letters. Ghosts.

Over the course of one spring day, we follow the lives of the eccentric and hilarious residents of a small Welsh village, learning of their loves, regrets, opinions and plots. Meet dozens of characters including Mrs Ogmore-Pritchard, relentlessly nagging the ghosts of her two dead husbands; the nostalgic Captain Cat, reliving his sea-faring days; Willy Nilly the postie, cheerfully reading everyone’s mail; the mad Lord Cutglass, obsessed with his 66 clocks; and Mr Pugh, who secretly dreams of getting rid of the shrewish Mrs Pugh.

A British Classic, full of poetry, gossip, ghosts, love letters and laughs, Under Milk Wood has been delighting audiences for over 70 years. Often considered to be the crowning achievement of the poet Dylan Thomas, people of all ages are invited to experience some of the best-loved characters in British literature.
