Tasmanian Textures is a collection of abstract landscape paintings that explore the rich, tactile beauty of Tasmania’s natural environment through layered textures and expressive colour.
Tasmanian Textures dives into the heart of Tasmania’s breathtaking landscapes, offering a bold step further into abstraction and a deeper exploration of the intricate details that define the island’s natural beauty.
In this collection, artist Hannah Blackmore explores the rich visual language of Tasmania through abstract expression. From windswept grasses and rugged rock formations to crashing waves and vivid orange skies, each painting reflects the layered textures of land and sea that make Tasmania so distinctive.
Using innovative techniques that combine plaster with acrylic paint, applied with palette knives as well as brushes, Hannah Blackmore builds richly textured surfaces that evoke the sensory experience of place. Her work captures the misty calm of forested hills, the strength of mountain ranges, and the shifting moods of the coastline.
Tasmanian Textures is a celebration of the island’s soul-stirring beauty, reimagined through abstraction. This exhibition invites viewers to engage with Tasmania on an emotional level, uncovering the hidden rhythms and depth of its natural forms.
