Opening Times
Salamanca Arts Centre’s administration is located on Level 2, 77 Salamanca Place and is open Monday – Friday from 9am – 5pm.
For opening times for galleries and shows, visit the individual event pages as opening times will vary between venues.
Getting Here
From the centre of Hobart, Salamanca Arts Centre is a short 5 – 10 min walk. We recommend using the Metro Tas app to find the best route from where you’re located.
Parking
There is paid meter parking at the front of Salamanca Arts Centre on Salamanca Place.
Alternatively, there are a few parking stations in close vicinity to Salamanca Arts Centre which range in pricing. Parking can be tricky on a Saturday, as the Salamanca Markets happen from 8.30am – 3pm so we’d recommend taking public transport if you wanted to visit then. If you’ve visiting MONA by ferry, then Salamanca Arts Centre is a short stroll from the ferry dock.
Accessibility
Salamanca Arts Centre welcomes everyone. We are committed to welcoming people with varying access needs to enjoy the program of events we have at Salamanca Arts Centre. Salamanca Arts Centre operates from a set of heritage buildings, and as such, there are some limitations to the accessibility to some of the spaces within our buildings.

Companion and Carer Cards
Salamanca Arts Centre recognises the Companion Card and Carer Card. Companion Card holders receive concession priced tickets to all ticketed events, plus a complimentary ticket for their companion. Complimentary tickets for companions can be purchased online. Carer Card holders receive concession priced tickets to all ticketed events.
Guide Dogs
Guide Dogs and other registered assistance dogs are welcome in all spaces at Salamanca Arts Centre. Water bowls available on request.

Courtyard Lift
The courtyard lift provides access and level access to levels one and two of the Arts Centre. A full assessment of the lift has identified that in the longer term it does need replacement, and NRE Tas is working with us to plan that replacement for early 2026.
Toilets
There are mens, womens, and accessible toilets located in the Courtyard (Ground Floor).
There are additional toilets (gender-neutral) located on Levels 1 and 2, near the Lift platforms.
COVID Safe Behaviour
We encourage COVID safe behaviour at Salamanca Arts Centre and follow all government guidelines.
- Keep 1.5m distance where you can
- Wear a mask when needed
- Stay home if you’re sick
- If you have symptoms, get tested
- Keep your hands clean
- Stay up to date with and follow government directions
Eat & Drink
Salamanca Arts Centre is host to the famous Tricycle Café which is housed next to the Peacock Theatre. Surrounding Salamanca Arts Centre, you’ll also find a multitude of restaurants in Salamanca Square and along Salamanca Place where you’re sure to find something to suit your tastebuds.
