“Still Presence is a continuation of material exploration, and the act of making, evoking a mood of melancholy and quiet moments.

An atmosphere is created by shifting, removing and altering varied, yet considered, materials. The palette is limited. Words, initially scribbled on paper, create the mood: quiet poetry, rebellious whisper, melancholy into beauty, still presence. And the material restrictions: blackened copper, clear quartz, white paint, silver, brass. Then the ‘play’ begins, it’s ongoing. Still Presence is a representation of where it is at, at this present moment.” – Jane Hodgetts
