About
Salamanca Arts Centre’s Short Term Studio is available for artists to execute a specific project, conduct research, or simply work on their practice in a dedicated studio for one to three months.
The Short Term Studio is a working space only, located on Level 2 of the Salamanca Arts Centre. It is a larger studio approximately 39m2 and comes equipped with an easel, wi-fi, and basic furniture. There is both lift and stair access to this studio, and it shares communal kitchenette and sink facilities with the other Morrison Studios.
Artists working in any medium or hybrid area will be considered, however regard should be given to the limitations of Space 238. This studio is in a designated quiet zone and experiences sound bleed. Headphones are recommended for sound-based artists.
Artists can apply for one, two or three calendar months. Applications usually open in September / October for residencies in the following year. There may be a second round in December / January, or special Special / Quick Response Application Rounds (as a result of cancellations etc.) may open up throughout the year. Artists can sign up to receive email notification when Short Term Studio applications open through the Studio Alert List.
All Salamanca Arts Centre Spaces are working Spaces only; they are not residential in nature. Accomodation must be arranged separately by the artist.
