“Mrs Kelly’s Garden” – is a Sculptural reinvention of a female tradition of exquisite intricate work. The work is named in her honour using the doilies display which can be seen from Kelly’s Steps.
Doilies are a beautiful reminder of the past & are a symbol of female strength and gentleness with creativity.
Mr Kelly is well written about. However what is known about Mrs Elizabeth Kelly is limited. Mrs Kelly had a large family, passing away in 1831 at the age of 33 is listed on the grave stone with her family in St David’s Park.
