Salamanca Arts Centre is a vibrant arts community located at Hobart’s Salamanca Place, close to Hobart’s waterfront and a short walk from the city’s central business district.
Within the Arts Centre, there are four different categories of Space available for longer-term lease. Lease terms generally range from one to five years, depending on the type of Space. Rental is based on both the size of the space (m2) as well as the type of Space. Select a type of Space below for more information:

Studio 120A is available for a long-term tenancy. This studio is 18m2 and suitable for an artist or small arts-based business.

Apply Now for 2027 Arts Residency Program | The Artists’ Cottage
Applications are now open for SAC’s Self-Funded Arts Residency Program for the Artists’ Cottage for 2027.
Applications are open to artists of all disciplines (including Writers, Performers, Musicians, Visual Artists) for Solo or Collaborative / Multi-Artist Residencies.
Applications are open to artists based in Tasmania, throughout Australia and Internationally.
Dates available from February – December 2027

Apply Now for 2026 Arts Residency in Italy | La Baldi Residency
Applications are now open for the La Baldi Arts Residency Program for 2027.
With the generous support of an (anonymous) individual donor, Salamanca Arts Centre is able to offer $4,000 towards the La Baldi Foundation’s Cultivate Arts Residency Program in Tuscany, Italy.
The donation will support this program for five years; from 2025 until 2029, and for 2026 Tasmanian Writers are eligible to apply.
