Comic and Scottish History YouTuber Bruce Fummey returns to Hobart with laughs galore and quirky observations to explain how Scotland Made the World.

More jokes than the YouTube videos, and some might make you blush, but you’ll leave having laughed and learned about Scotland’s role in the world.

Bruce Fummey, the comedian behind the 230k subscriber YouTube channel Scotland History Tours, returns to Tasmania with a new show. Laughs galore and quirky observations as Bruce explains how Scotland Made the World.

Every Saturday morning, UK time, Bruce tells a story from Scotland’s history. This show will deliver more jokes than you’d get from the YouTube videos, and some might even make you blush. However you’ll still laugh as you learn about Scotland’s role in the world, and what created that kilted diaspora.

Nominated for comedy awards at Fringeworld, WA and at home in Scotland for Scottish Comedy Awards and even named Scottish Comedian of the Year, Bruce has appeared on ABC series Stuff the British Stole and numerous UK TV and Radio shows and brought acting skills to bear in the Steve Coogan film The Lost King

Get ready to dance and laugh along to the infectious jump jive tunes of Uncle Gus and The Rimshots as this fun-loving and goofy band records the next album live at The Founders Room!

Join us for a night of high-energy entertainment and ban(d)ter with Uncle Gus and The Rimshots as they record their upcoming album Live in The Founders Room on Friday 21 arch 2025!

Uncle Gus and The Rimshots

Uncle Gus and The Rimshots are a Hobart-based jump jive/swing band that keeps its audience dancing, singing, and laughing, along with the swing hits of yesterday and today. Playing both original music and the repertoire of swing/jive greats like Louis Jordan, Louis Prima and Bull Moose Jackson, these swingers create a fun-loving atmosphere filled with energy and ban(d)ter that will surely get everyone buzzing.

Gus Leighton fronts the band on lead vocals and roaring saxophone, while Dave Cavallo squawks away on trumpet and Adam Davenport-Hortle slides around on the trombone. Piano player Mathew Olivier, guitarist Aleks Folvig, double bassist Sasha Gavlek and drummer Damien Oliver-Black work together to provide a cookin’ rhythm section that your feet won’t be able to stop dancing to! So dust off those dancing shoes, and put on your suspenders – with Uncle Gus and the Rimshots you will swing the night away.
