The Artists’ Cottage is utilised primarily for Salamanca Arts Centre’s Arts Residency Program. This Georgian sandstone Cottage (C. 1840), is centrally located in historic Battery Point, and within walking distance to Salamanca Place.
Artists can apply for inclusion in Salamanca Arts Centre’s Arts Residency Program. Any dates not utilised by the Arts Residency Program are available to artists, arts organisation or non-artists.
Arts Residency Program
In 2021, Salamanca Arts Centre launched the Self-Funded Arts Residency Program for the Artists’ Cottage, with the aim of providing a new residency program in Hobart.
The Self-Funded Arts Residency Program consists of a maximum of 12 Arts Residencies per year and is open to artists of all disciplines (including writers, performers, musicians and visual artists) for either solo or collaborative / multi-artist residencies.

Salamanca Arts Centre seeks applications for inclusion in the Arts Residency Program annually.
Applications are encouraged from artists of all disciplines (including writers, performers, musicians, visual artists) for either solo or collaborative / multi-artist Arts Residencies.
Applications for the 2023 Arts Residency Program have closed.



Information for Artists & Arts Organisations
The Artists’ Cottage may be available for Artists and Arts Organisations for Short Term Accomodation during periods when the Cottage is not in use for the Arts Residency Program.
Date availability for Artist / Arts Organisation bookings to be released upon confirmation of Arts Residency Program dates. No dates currently available for the remainder of 2022 / 2023.
