In 2024, Singer-Songwriter Rowan Smith’s eighth album – in the key of kintsugi – glues all the pieces together.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear Rowan & his band launch the celebrated new Vinyl LP – in the key of kintsugi

Rowan fronted Melbourne bands, Macguffins and later Barefoot – with songs that have appeared in the Triple J Hottest 100 and ARIA Top 20 airplay charts – before moving to Hobart where he has produced a further six solo albums.

In 2020, New York indie label Cloudberry Records produced the 23-track – Macguffins Retrospective – for release in the U.S.A and U.K. And earlier, Barefoot’s debut album – Long Time Strangers – was released in Canada through A&M Records.

Rowan’s brand new album – in the key of kintsugi – looks back and forwards – the 11-song album containing some reworks of past hits from both bands alongside 5 new titles, arguably some of Rowan’s finest songs. The newly-arrived album will be available for purchase on the night, too.

Rowan will play on the night with his Macguffins bandmate and bassplayer, Michael Paxton, local drumming legend, Casey Kostiuk, and multi-instrumentalist, William Graddon – playing the songs from in the key of kintsugi plus other audience favourites from this Australian songwriter’s acclaimed back-catalogue.

“Kintsugi is all about embracing imperfection. Rowan Smith’s new album might not be perfect but, gee, it’s good. Smith’s songs provide solace amidst the chaos of everyday life.” – Jeff Jenkins (ABC radio, Rhythms magazine)
