SUMMARY:Tides of Tranquility
DESCRIPTION:Wayne Looyen\n\n\n\nExhibition Dates : Thursday 19 – Monda
 y 30 March\, 202610:00am – 5:00pm dailyOpening Event :Thursday 19 Marc
h5:30pm – 7:30pmWayne Looyen presents an exhibition of handcrafted por
celain works featuring coral imagery finished with gold luster. The exhi
bition brings together skulls\, animals\, and organic forms that explore
the intersection of beauty\, fragility\, and environmental loss.\n\n\n\
nDrawing on the visual language of natural history and luxury ornamentat
ion\, the works juxtapose delicate porcelain with radiant gold to reflec
t the vulnerability of coral reefs and marine ecosystems. Symbols tradit
ionally associated with preservation and permanence are reimagined by Lo
oyen to underscore the precarity of these environments in the face of cl
imate change and human impact.\n\n\n\n“I use porcelain and gold to ech
o the way we aestheticize what is disappearing\,” says the artist. “
These materials are historically associated with value and preservation\
, yet the forms reference ecosystems that are vanishing faster than we c
an protect them. The work is meant to hold beauty and grief in the same
moment.”\n\n\n\nAt once elegant and unsettling\, Tides of Tranquility
invites viewers to slow down and reflect on what is being lost beneath t
he surface of the ocean. The exhibition creates a contemplative space wh
ere reverence and mourning coexist\, encouraging a deeper consideration
of how value\, memory\, and beauty shape our relationship with the natur
 al world.\n\n\n\n\n\nAccessibility\n\n\n\nAccessible Toilet (located in&
