  the fourth in the String Quartet #1 Project which aims to showcase firs
 t string quartets from Australian composers.\n\n\n\n\nBook Now\n\n\n\n\n
 This instalment in the series will explore the multitudinous connotation
 s in the music of Tasmanian convict composer Alexander Laing (1792-1868)
 \, with performances of Laing's fiddle tunes interlaced between each con
 temporary string quartet. Composed while Laing was constable in the town
 ship of Sorell\, these tunes are amongst the first notated compositions 
 written in Tasmania\, and by pairing them with new string quartet compos
 itions from living Australian composers\, the String Quartet #1 Project 
 | Series 4 will explore a dialogue between past and present music.\n\n\n
