SUMMARY:Blossoms of Belonging
DESCRIPTION:Anastasiia Ananieva\n\n\n\nExhibition Dates : Thursday 28 Au
 gust - Sunday 28 September 2025Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pmWeekdays T
BC\n\n\n\nA collection of illustrated artworks by emerging artist Anasta
siia Ananieva exploring a personal journey of belonging\, home\, migrati
on and memory through intertwining symbols of Ukrainian heritage and Tas
manian nature.\n\n\n\nBlossoms of Belonging is a personal and emotionall
y resonant exhibition by Hobart-based Ukrainian artist Anastasiia Ananie
va. This collection of illustrated artworks explores the evolving sense
of home\, identity\, and connection that has shaped her experience since
moving from Ukraine to Tasmania in 2022. Through intertwining visual el
ements of Ukrainian heritage and Tasmanian nature\, the works tell a jou
 rney of migration\, memory\, resilience\, and cultural transformation.\n
\n\n\nAnastasiia’s artworks combine digital and traditional techniques
. Her warm and detailed style draws inspiration from folk art\, childhoo
d memories\, and emotional reflection. She uses colour and form to invit
e the viewer into a dreamlike space.\n\n\n\nThe concept for Blossoms of
Belonging was built based on Anastasiia’s time in Tasmania. As a new a
rrival and migrant\, she found herself seeking a sense of grounding in a
n unfamiliar place. Over time\, she began to see parallels between the l
andscapes and botanical life of Tasmania and the symbols of her homeland
. This connection sparked the visual language that now defines the exhib
ition\, where flowers are more than just beautiful motifs\; they are met
aphors for memory\, cultural identity\, inner growth and resilience.\n\n
\n\nThe exhibition is also a celebration of Anastasiia’s three-year jo
urney in Tasmania\, a time marked by life-changing\, learning\, and deep
creative exploration. It honours not only her path\, but the kindness\,
generosity\, and support she has received from the Tasmanian community.
As such\, Blossoms of Belonging becomes a shared space — an invitatio
n to all viewers to reflect on their journeys\, the shifting meaning of
home\, and the quiet strength found in moments of transition.\n\n\n\nThi
s body of work has been developed over months of research\, sketching\,
reflection\, and emotional processing. The final exhibition will include
a series of 15 illustrated works\, including six new major pieces being
created in 2025 specifically for this show.\n\n\n\nAnastasiia hopes tha
t visitors to the exhibition will not only engage visually\, but also em
otionally\, recognising within the works their own stories of migration\
, longing\, resilience\, or sense of home. For those who have ever left
home\, started again\, or searched for belonging\, Blossoms of Belonging
offers a quiet\, healing space to pause and reflect.\n\n\n\n\n\nAccessi
