 tre&nbsp\;\n\n\n\n~~~~~\n\n\n\nThe Black Swans of Trespass&nbsp\;are a c
ontemporary banjo-oriented trio from Hobart. Led by avant-garde banjoist
CC Thornley\, they draw on all styles and disciplines of banjo from aro
und the world to create a unique\, new language and paradigm for banjo.\
n\n\n\nCC Thornley received a scholarship to study banjo at the Hobart C
onservatory. Already well versed in both Trad Jazz Dixie styles\, Scrugg
s Bluegrass finger styles\, and contemporary jazz banjo\, he spent these
years further developing his unique approach to the instrument across m
ultiple genres. Previously he had spent 10 years in the Celtic Rock band
Zeptepi\, where he developed an electric rock style. He has since studi
ed Jamaican banjo\, and became an advocate for Traditional Tasmanian fol
k music\, arranging many songs in this canon for 3 finger arpa style ban
jo. CC is the only dedicated electric banjo player in Australia. His unc
ommon freedom on the fret-board fuses all styles of banjo seamlessly. Th
e BSoT harness the lively energy of banjo music. With prolific Tasmanian
session musicians Jack Lester on drums\, and Paul Sharp on bass\, the B
SoT a kind of Banjo Super-Trio - but they never take themselves too seri
ously.CC's irreverent\, rebellious presentation is delivered wryly\, wit
h a wink to the audience\, inviting them to drop the pretension so often
associated with high-end music\, and dance with the banjo. The Black Swa
ns of Trespass defy the inductive reasoning that imprisons the banjo in
bluegrass or folk paradigms. They trespass into genres previously forbidd
en with joyful abandon\, and they are a true hidden gem of the Tasmanian
music scene with a cult-like following.~~~~~\n\n\n\nPlease note that th
