SUMMARY:Beyond the Pavement
DESCRIPTION:Robin Tindale\n\n\n\nExhibition Dates:Friday April 10 – Su
 nday April 19\, 2026Weekdays/Saturday 10:00am – 4:00pm Sunday 10:00am
 – 2:00pm“I have visited the island at Eaglehawk Neck many times- to
paint\, draw and photograph. These rocks were laid down around 300 milli
on years ago and have eroded over the eons to form the sheer cliff face
and the island that rises from the ocean- search hard enough and you may
find fossils to prove its age. It is the form of these rocks that take
centre stage here. I use colour and bold brush strokes to settle these s
hapes in the landscape.”\n\n\n\nThis collection of 19 works takes you
on a journey to a very particular place on Tasmania’s Tasman Peninsula
.\n\n\n\nTake a walk at low tide\, north from the tessellated pavements
at a particular time of the day and you will catch the light as colours
bounce off the rocks and cliff face of Clydes Island. You will pick your
way across the pavements\, peering into rock-pools to wonder at the abu
ndant sea life. You will scramble over the boulders\, marvelling at thei
r patterns and colours. You will be transfixed by the movement of the gl
istening bull kelp and wonder what lies beneath.\n\n\n\nThis is the plac
e in Robin’s imagination as she conjures light and colour from the lan
dforms. The power of nature takes the forefront here. You can almost see
the Island eroding away.\n\n\n\n“I want viewers to go back to this fa
miliar place and see it with fresh eyes. To look and say ‘yes\, I’ve
been there when the sky was wild and dark like that. I saw the setting
sun light up the island like it was the most special place on earth.’
And perhaps it is. It is certainly extraordinarily beautiful and forever
  changing.”\n\n\n\n\n\nAccessibility\n\n\n\nAccessible Toilet (on Leve
