0pm – 3:30pm Artists with Conviction is an annual exhibition that prov
ides prisoners within Tasmania Prison Service (TPS) facilities\, as well
as offenders serving orders with Community Corrections with the opportu
nity to showcase their creativity through art and written work in the co
mmunity.–––––The Artists with Conviction Exhibition of art and
writing is an annual showcase of creativity and resilience. Now in its
sixteenth consecutive year\, the theme of this year’s exhibition is â€
˜Something Different’. Over the years\, the exhibition has supported p
risoners and offenders by providing opportunities for creative expressio
n\, healing and personal development. Through the artistic process\, par
ticipants can safely explore and express complex emotions and experience
s\, helping them build self-awareness\, process personal challenges and
develop positive coping strategies.\n\n\n\nProducing creative work and p
articipating in the exhibition also helps the prisoners and offenders de
velop new skills and talents\, which can boost self-esteem and build con
fidence. This sense of achievement can be an important step for rehabili
tation and reintegration back into the community.\n\n\n\nThe diversity o
f work at this years’ exhibition is striking\, from intricate woodwork
to evocative poetry\, knitted sculptures and thoughtful paintings and d
rawings.\n\n\n\nArtworks are available for sale\, with all monies going
to the artists.\n\n\n\nAll welcome!–––––Panel Event Informatio
