LPA (Les Petites Annonces)

LPA (Les Petites Annonces)

Proudly presented by Salamanca Arts Centre as part of the Emergence program.

MIETTES is a contemporary and performative journey into the musical history of French-ish cabaret. Julia Drouhin and Edith Perrenot will explore a new set up for an absurd immersive cabaret that might ask the audience to be part of, with a dada twist. They will invite a few performers (acrobat, musician) to take part in the final show in November. They will apply for music and performance focus grants to support artists fees.

Dramaturgy by Sventlana Bunic and Maude Davey

MIETTES is proudly supported by Salamanca Arts Centre and Tasmania Performs.

Navigating (French) female archetypes, pop culture and the fragile beauty of the ordinary, LPA® are strange strangers observing strangeness everywhere they go.

LPA® started at the 2018 Tasperforms Residency in Tarraleah. Since then, they develop projects where preciousness is contained in a DIY and humorous set up, based on their respective backgrounds in visual and sound arts, from dadaist shows playing all sorts of instruments (including a xylophone of squeaking pigs), GIF flip books, S-trash magazines collage workshops, to edible nipple shells.

For their first exhibition Fair Distancing at Good Grief Studios for Mona Foma 2021, LPA®  produced machinery crossing over sculpture, video, sound and carved works concerned about hug’s metaphysics and socially distanced games.
