“One of the most extraordinarily involving and rewarding theatrical experiences. Unforgetable. Go.” Stage Whispers
Part documentary, part urban thriller, Pin Drop is an immersive audio-sensory experience that taps into our primal urges. Created and performed by Tamara Saulwick, Pin Drop won the 2010 Outstanding Production Green Room Award (Theatre -Alternative and Hybrid Performance) and is, according to Alison Croggon’s Theatre Notes, “remarkable theatre, executed with exact brilliance that makes its sensual vividness all the more powerful”.
Pin Drop draws on a series of interviews with people aged six to 92. Live voice mingles with the disembodied sounds of pre-recorded conversations; household objects are transformed into potential threats, and the most familiar of spaces become strange, as the mind plots the shortest route to a safe place to hide.
Conjured into life by Tamara Saulwick’s rivetting solo performance and Peter Knight’s visceral score, this award-winning production has left reviewers and punters alike breathless.
“Pin Drop makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up and might leave you scared of the dark.” Aussie Theatre
