About the Application Process

All applications are assessed twice annually (in May and October), with submission deadlines being 30 April and 30 September each year. The panel will meet following this date and applicants will be advised of their decision in the following month.

All applications are assessed by the SAC Assessment Panel consisting of a professional from the Tasmanian Arts community, the CEO / Artistic Director, the Arts & Events Coordinator, and the Visual Arts Coordinator of the Salamanca Arts Centre.

The application process is very competitive. SAC receives more applications than gallery spaces available; approximately 60% of applicants were successful in the previous assessment round. All applicants will be notified of the outcome in due course. The decision of the SAC Assessment Panel is final.

Dates are not confirmed until an application is approved by the SAC Assessment Panel, the Agreement for Hire is signed and returned and the deposit paid.

The SAC Assessment Panel reserves the right to alter exhibition dates to assist with the requirements and to benefit the SAC Arts Program.
